INTER-ISLAND CRUISES BOAT TRIPS

Designed to give its passengers a chance to experience as many sightings of birds and mammals both at sea and on land by landing on one of the many islands that lie offshore from the coast of Mull,

Boat trips land at Lunga, one of the Tresnish group of islands with its extensive puffin colony and its corncrakes, and many other species of sea birds. We visit Coll with its seal colonies, and whale, dolphin and basking shark sightings, or Muck, one of the group of islands known as the Small Isles, on our whale watching trips.

These are our cruising grounds, yours to experience for the day, either on your own personal sea cruise or in the company of small numbers of like minded fellow passengers.

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS, TRADING CONDITIONS AND FAQ FOR
INTER-ISLAND CRUISES AND WHALE WATCHING TRIPS

1) The most frequently asked question is " when is the best time of year to see whales ? " This is very difficult to answer precisely. Whale watching on the west coast of Scotland is essentially a summer activity. Our season runs from the end of April to end of September. In this time it is possible to see whales on any day DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER.

We describe the trips in 3 categories of weather.

Category A: Calm conditions where the route and destination is not affected by weather.
Category B: Days when the weather causes poor sea conditions making sightings difficult.
Category C: Days when the weather allows us to operate in sheltered waters only

We don't often have to cancel, but we do not sail in adverse weather conditions

2) The following details are required to secure a booking: Credit card type, credit card number, expiry date, exact name on the card. We also require address and home telephone number. Payment is made the morning of the trip once the decision to sail has been made. You will be given your receipt when you join the boat. If you fail to arrive on the day booked, please note you may lose the whole cost of your booking.

3) Please ring the above number the morning of the trip between 0800 and 0830 to confirm that the weather is suitable and the trip will take place. If you fail to ring in, you may lose your place to someone on the reserve list.

4) You will need a packed lunch, warm clothing and waterproofs, including waterproof trousers. We must stress that it can be cold on the water even in summer. Extra clothing is strongly advised. If you are booked on an island day with a landing, good walking boots or suitable alternative footware is essential. On sunny days, don't forget the
sunscreen.

5) We meet at Croig Pier which is approx. 3.5 miles from Dervaig on the Calgary road. You will see Croig signposted to the right and our Inter-Island Cruise sign indicating a right turn. Please drive beyond the pier and park in the grassy farm square. This keeps vehicles off the narrow road.

6) All our trips are full day. We meet at 09:45 for a 10:00 departure from the mooring. We are usually home between 17:00 and 18:00. Please note we cannot guarantee to get passengers back in time to catch the last ferry off the island. It is essential for passengers to have accommodation booked on the island the night after the trip.

7) If you are prone to travel sickness, please be sure to take a sea sick pill before arriving on the boat.

8) Please note that when calling in to confirm the only mobile phone that works efficiently on the island is Vodaphone

THE VESSEL is the traditional wooden 37 foot MV FLAMER with large enclosed wheel house, large sheltered after deck, galley and toilet. Hot drinks and home baking always available.
